    Since everyone is chomping at the bit for BotW2, and there are obviously no mysteries left in the first game left for any of you, I thought I would pose a few questions to see if you could answer them for me.

    As a disclaimer: I really do not know the answer to any of these, and I'm genuinely curious. Some of them have been bothering me for a long time.

    Pick one! Or more. Anything. Answer the unanswered!!

    1) Why is the water level in Lake Hylia so insanely low, despite being constantly filled?

    2) Why are there only signs of excavation in the Gerudo Desert? Is it because the desert heat preserved the scaffolding, and other areas were actually excavated as well?

    3) Where are the signs of the Hylian kingdom's presence in the Hebra Mountains?

    4) What used to be in the giant, ashy blast stain to the north of the Royal Tech Lab?

    5) Why didn't King Dorephan release water from the southern spillway of the reservoir Ruta took over? It would have washed over a shallow bit of land full of Lizalfos and into the ocean. A simple barrier in the narrow water channel could have helped divert it.

    6) Does the Gerudo Desert meet the ocean in the south?

    7) What statue did the Gerudo Town spring once resemble? Was it from a previous legend of the hero (game)?

    8) What did Daruk know about Death Mountain that he didn't tell Link? There's a story there.

    9) Why was there such a large, established stone keep so far to the east of Hyrule Castle? Towers like that are typically built to protect something, or keep something out. All indications are that the need to flee the castle was a surprise. Why were there no other areas so heavily fortified?

    10) Did the Hylian line pass down through Zelda's mother or father? Keeping in mind that many races and people have special, magical abilities, and her grandmother could have been paternal or maternal. (I think I read somewhere once that in the original Japanese it was more plainly apparent it was her mother?)

    11) Why does Farosh spawn in three locations, DinRaal one location (a very LONG one), and Naydra solely in the environs around one mountain?

    12) Why don't the Rito or Hebra Mountains beckon the presence of a sacred dragon? Did they ever have one? What happened to it? (Does this relate to the northern lights?)

    13) The Sheikah of Kakariko retained some of their technology of old (the clothing). Did the Yiga retain any knowledge of ancient technology?

    14) What used to be on the Tingle Brothers islands?

    15) Was the land immediately north of Kakariko always marshland?

    16) What are the giant bones that can survive endless desert heat and lava, but not the deep mountain cold or verdant grasslands?

    17) How long ago did the Koroks set up the trap of the Lost Woods? (I remember them telling Link about it.)

    18) What created the deep hollow of Kopeeki Drifts, or the giant Mushroom Rocks of Pikida Stonegrove?

    19) What caused the uplift of the Great Plateau?

    20) Were the walls surrounding the Great Plateau put there to prevent erosion of the base, and the loss of the historic edifices above? Or did they serve a deeper purpose?

    21) Who or what created Skull Lake in such a distinctive shape?

    22) What are the giant rocks surrounding Zora's Domain? They're not precisely luminous stone. Or are they the matrix from luminous stone, and all the gem-like bits were mined away?

    23) Are there more instances of black ice than the blast mark on Hebra Mountain?

    24) What purpose do the unique rock formations of the Pillars of Levia serve?

    25) Why are the Death Mountain hotsprings relatively free of monsters, but full of wildlife?

    26) What are the hundred peaks of Hyrule, and why is the summit of Death Mountain (a level-two burning zone) the first one?

    27) Who moved the eighth swordswoman and her sword? HOW?

    28) If the Arbiter's Grounds lay beneath the desert sands, what other structures share the same fate? Were they not ever excavated?

    29) Can you ride a goat? (I keep trying!)

    30) Do cuccoos burst into flame on Death Mountain?

    31) What created the dead forests to the east of the Thyplo Ruins?

    32) Why are the Thyplo Ruins always dark? Was there any mention of them in the in-game lore?

    33) Where is (or would have been) the goddess statue in Hyrule Castle?

    34) What were the giant trees scattered around Hyrule, and why are there none left alive? It looks like they all died at the same time. If they were targeted: why?

    35) Why aren't there any proper sea ports for large vessels?

    36) Is Horon Lagoon a special place for the Zoras?

    37) Are Giant Octos extinct?

    38) If the love story of Ruto survived such an immense time, what other lore may have endured?

    39) Who built (or maintained) the shrines of Courage, Wisdom, and Power? Such things don't simply exist on their own for (at least) thousands of years. They have caretakers, maintainers. People with two hands, two feet, and tools.

    40) Who built the roads of Hyrule?

    41) Why do the Guardians, despite being controlled by Ganon and Blight, ignore wild fauna?

    42) Why can't the Lord of the Mountain keep the Stalnox and other undead monsters away, like he does the living ones? Why are there undead all over Satori Mountain?

    43) Are the guardian items made out of glass or a polymer?

    44) Was there only one Sheikah Slate? Ever? Anywhere?

    45) How does a stalkoblin tame a stalhorse?

    46) How many shrines existed "above the surface" before Link's awakening?

    47) Who put all the heavy, forged cooking pots in all the remote locations? Were they always there?

    48) How does Kass survive in the wild?

    49) Was Kass's mentor in love with Zelda? Or either of her parents?

    50) Why don't the great weaponsmiths and crafters of this age craft new weapons, instead of just repairing or replacing relics?

    51) Will the blood moons be gone if Ganon perishes?

    52) What separates a ruined guardian from being a ruin?

    53) What happened to the felines of Hyrule?

    54) Where are Hyrule's mystics?

    55) What holidays exist in Hyrule?

    56) What is the relationship between Dueling Peaks, Squabble River, and Little Twin/Big Twin bridges? And how does it relate to the legend that a dragon broke the mountain in two?

    57) What is the fascination that Koroks have with bridges?

    58) Did the Talus, Hinoxes, and Lynels exist in Hyrule 100 years ago, or did they take residence since the calamity?

    59) What would it be like to tame an Octo as a pet?

    60) Are there any actual stoves you can cook on besides in Gerudo Town and Hateno?

    61) Where were the crops grown for Hyrule of 100 years ago? There must have been fields on fields!

    62) Where is Kilton from? He looks Hylian, right?

    63) Did the shrines have public access 100 years ago, could anyone pilgrimage to them?

    64) What underground network powers the shrines and towers, and how are they interconnected? Is it accessible?

    65) Where all/most of the chests around Hyrule originally looted from the castle?

    66) How does the Goron lifespan relate to the Hylian one? Do they live longer or shorter lifespans?

    67) Do the Zora grow any crops? Do they gather any plants?

    68) Does lighting all the lanterns really DO anything? (I have tried so many times!)

    69) Can you lure a Hylian Retriever to your house with a trail of apples?

    70) Do any foods work as bait for non-fish wildlife?

    71) Do the fish caught with bait have any special properties when cooked?

    72) Is anyone hiding beer or sake on their shelves?

    73) Are there any interesting places you've seen on the paintings inside homes? (I have a tough time seeing them clearly.)

    74) When did travel resume after the time of burning fields? How long did it take?

    75) Are there any actual graveyards outside of Kakariko?

    76) Have you seen any ghosts? There must be ghosts. This area is ripe for ghosts. I mean besides Rhoam and four of the Champions.

    77) How can Link see all of the ghosts but Zelda can't, even after her power was awakened?

    78) Just what DID happen to Link in the Shrine of Resurrection? What else did it do besides heal him and take his memories?

    79) Is there an ancient Sheikah furnace near the castle anywhere?

    80) What does Zelda's principle field of study seem to be? Botany?

    81) What did Impa study? What was her primary focus?

    82) What happened to Impa's children?

    83) Are there any special recipe combinations that work especially well with Sanke Carp?

    84) Do any of the outfits work differently depending upon what color they are? Do certain color combinations give slight bonuses or additional effects?

    85) Do blue torches lead somewhere else in the Lost Woods?

    86) Aside from the wind/torches, animals, and playing hot/cold with the mist, how else can you navigate the Lost Woods?

    87) Is there any indication that the Koroks or Deku Tree remember the Kokiri?

    88) Is Kass's accordion a Sheikah artifact? It's very complex.

    89) What other Tech Labs were there other than Hateno, Akkala, and the Royal one?

    90) Does anything special happen when you befriened every dog in Hyrule, aside from feeling AWESOME?

    91) Can sand seals be lured, distracted, or called with certain foods?

    92) Do molduga eat sand seals? Can they be lured, distracted, or called with certain foods? (Aside from bombs and Link.)

    93) Is the blue dye Zelda uses made from Silent Princesses using a special process? (Before anyone calls me crazy, was I was remembering how blueberries have indigo skin, green flesh, and produce red juice when crushed. Nature is bizarre and awesome.)

    94) Do the garments Zelda made have any special properties, like the Sheikah clothing?

    95) The Sheikah made all of Link's special clothing, didn't they? Wait, what does that make the fairies, then? Are they a remnant from 10k years ago? Was Link's clothing common back then?

    96) Has Rhoam really been in mourning all this time? The book shows him in normal clothes, but every time we see him in the game he is wearing black.

    97) Was there any indication that Zelda was allowed to have friends after her mother died?

    98) How long has that prophecy been kicking around, and who created it, anyway?

    99) Does a Talus eat or do anything, or is it just a really angry rock?

    100) How is this the one tale of the hero where players are cognizant of the deeds of the past? How was that information preserved so well for so long? We don't even know for sure what happened 10k years ago here. What don't we know about their record keeping methods? This wasn't something passed down by voice, book, or scroll. Could it have been that Zelda's grandmother really spoke with people from the past?

    So I was wondering, is the guard that is the room with all the pots as a child the poe collector that is in the same room as an adult? At night when you talk to the guard he says something like he is really interested in ghosts or something like that. Also when you look at the poe collector closely you can see the triforce symbol on a piece of his clothing. So I was just thinking that him and the poe collector are the same person.

    (Edit) Another thing is that the guard says he wishes something bad will happen and to keep it between you and him, while the poe collector says that he is greatful to the great ganondorf because it's a good time to open shop.

    I'm convinced that the Lynels don't necessarily need those big melee weapons they carry and could kill an unarmed or ill-equipped person with their brute strength alone.
