[ALBW] I finished A Link Between Worlds! Posted: 01 Aug 2020 01:09 PM PDT Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much from this game, because I really don't hear much about it, but it's actually really fun. The whole "transform into a painting" mechanic was really cool. One of my biggest complaints of the top-down/pixel Zelda's were the controls, but in this game they felt very smooth. I can't tell if this game is easier because the controls are much smoother, or if it actually is just easier. I played A Link to the Past so I already recognize most of the map. I'd say they did a very very good job of balancing how similar and how different this sequel would be. This game's vibe is much more aimed at kids, compared to the originals vintage/antique feel, but I think overall, I like it a little more than ALTTP. Compared to the 3D games, this is like a fun-sized adventure. [BotW] Breath Companion app (iOS and Android; yes it's back in the PlayStore..) Also Version 3.5.1 is now live for iOS and Android (PlayStore + Amazon). All the possible changes I could implement (and sounded useful to me) since the last post are now included so if anyone has some additional ideas, feel free to sent them to me. Still the biggest part of the userbase is here from reddit and I know that this app already helped a lot of players. And yes, I know that many of the implemented things are available on other sources as well, but I don't know a single alternative that also works without a internet connection (after the map download) and has everything in a single place. [BotW2] What do you think they'll do about the Master Sword and Champion's abilities in BotW2? Posted: 01 Aug 2020 09:05 PM PDT Also the Sheikah runes as well. Canonically, Link has obtained the Master Sword and gained all of the Champions' abilities. He also has the Sheikah slate with a whole bunch of runes and abilities. But at the very start of his adventure, most of them are probably way too OP. So what do you think they'll do with that? As for the Champions' abilities, sure maybe he'll be put through some kind of spell or something that makes him lose those powers or something (or maybe he'll just lose the Champions' orbs). But what about the Master Sword? Will the game just have him lose hold of it while running or something and accidentally drop it down a cliff? idk physically "losing" the Master Sword seems like a bit of a cop out explanation as to why he doesn't have it. But who knows maybe they'll make it a main quest to go and retrieve the lost Master Sword. Or maybe he returned to the Lost Woods after defeating Calamity Ganon? But the thing is, the BotW2 trailer clearly shows him equipped with the Master Sword on his back. Then what about the Sheikah slate? Do we just have all the bombs and magnesis and cryonis and all that stuff as soon as we start the game? Will the game make us lose it and we have to retrieve it in the opening sequence or something?
