Today is Merchandise Monday. So you can post your collections, boxes, photos of your game, a cool t-shirt your found, etc today only! - June 22, 2020

From the rule in the sidebar:

Feel free to post news about new official merchandise whenever you like but for unofficial goods, or photos of your personal collection, please post them on Merchandise Mondays.

The sub gets filled with people taking photos of their collections, their amiibos, their copy of [insert game here] as well as people wanting to sell you stuff. So we limit it to Monday's so it doesn't over take the sub.

Brand new official merchandise announcements are allowed any day of the week, just unofficial merch or photos of your own merch is limited to today!

[ALL] Why is it always different Links and Zeldas but the same Ganon?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 01:52 PM PDT

It seems that - from what little I know of the lore - that it's always the same Ganon that's reincarnated and brought back to life, whereas it's always different Link and Zeldas, with different lives and different memories, but the same soul. Why is that? Why aren't there multiple Ganons?

To clarify, I mean that the Hero of Wind isn't the same guy as the Hero of Time. They share a soul, but they're different people. Why isn't there a Ganon of Wind and a Ganon of Time?

[MM] Need help finding old funny Majora's Mask Video!

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 01:03 PM PDT

I've been searching for this video for years but have had no luck, finally giving in and seeking the help of anyone I can to locate this video.

It's a Majora's Mask video during the milk road escort side quest with the carriage and Cremia quotes Back to the Future's "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads" line and the carriage turns into a flying vehicle and flies off

If anyone knows where this video is, or if it's remotely familiar, please let me know! Thanks!

[OoS] Oracle of Seasons has some very good dungeons.

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 07:04 PM PDT

I just beat the game and, especially starting with the Dancing Dragon Dungeon, they're all really cool and memorable and a joy to explore. On top of that, all but one of the dungeon bosses are interesting new takes on classic Zelda bosses.

All in all Oracle of Seasons was such a joy to play, and I'm eager to get started with Oracle of Ages!

If I die at an early 60 years old, that gives me about 35 more years of life. Thats probably at least 10 more Zelda games. And then I got really giddy and super excited.

I love this franchise so much. Long live Zelda and the princess he saves.

[WW] Link aging in The Wind Waker

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 09:55 AM PDT

So in Ocarina if Time, when Link pulls the Master Sword he has to age to use it because he was too young. I was wondering if the reason why Link doesn't age in The Wind Waker is because he did not enter the Temple of Time to get the Master Sword and only retrieves it from the Pedestal of Time?

[MM] Why was Skull Kid in Hyrule?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 07:08 PM PDT

So Majora's Mask starts with Link in Hyrule, and he's ambushed by Skull Kid, who steals Epona and the ocarina. But what was Skull Kid doing in Hyrule? During the flashback when Tatl recognizes the drawing Skull Kid made of himself and the fairies it's shown they met Skull Kid in Termina so I assume that's where he hails from. Did Majora just get bored of Termina and want to spread its chaos to Hyrule? But if so then why would it suddenly want to annihilate Termina? Did it just want to fuck with Link?

    [OoT] N64 or GameCube

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 06:38 PM PDT

So me and the wife are gonna play OoT for her first time this week and I've played the N64 and 3DS versions but seeing as we are playing together I don't wanna play on the 3DS. I've never played it on the GC so I was wondering what would be the better option? Graphic wise I know GC wins but what about controls or bugs and stuff which one is better.

    [MM] Game Nostalgia

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 12:26 PM PDT

During this quarantine lock down I've been reminiscing about my childhood and the old Zelda games, more specifically Majora's Mask. It was such a good game, I remember when my older brother came home with an N64 console and two games, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. We played both and he introduced me to the Zelda series. Those games became a huge piece of my childhood more specifically MM, for some reason I was fascinated by the Happy Mask Salesman. To this day I love the character and would love to see more development on him in future Zelda games as he is but an enigma who appears, disappears, can maybe use magic, and might have had a relation to the moon children. To be honest he might be one of my favorite characters in the whole series but that's beside the point. At this point in my life I would have no problem just throwing a big hundred just to play a full remake of the original, better textures but the same dark eerie feel of the game that once captivated me as a kid. All in all, even if this game was just a rushed project made to make more money off of OOT's success it is without a doubt very high up in my top favorite Zelda games.

[ALL] What do you think would be the most comfortable version of Hyrule to live in?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 09:19 AM PDT

Assuming more realistic size (in the case of versions that would be too small) and the inclusion of basic amenities that should logically be there but just weren't depicted in game.

    -----------------------------------

Personally, I'd say Minish Cap for three main reasons.

The first is that monsters largely weren't there until Vaati came along and messed things up. Even after that, the monsters weren't too much of a threat to common people due to solders and a ten-year-old keeping them at bay. Anyone who wants to can also learn to fight them at the local dojo.

The second is the actual Town, which includes a café, bakery, a library, a school, a hotel, and more. The town has a nice atmosphere on top of this, particularly during festival season, and the whole kingdom has a "small town"/"everyone knows each other" vibe (even the princess of the land casually visits a blacksmith's grandson by casually walking through the town).

Finally, you have the Minish who canonically drop things like money, life energy, and miracle-creating stones in the grass for people to find. The kinstones in particular create powerful effects that benefit people and are casually used by the populace for fun. Minish also make things like the Pictolytes, which change a person's luck for a time.

[BoTW] Enemies you want to see in BoTW2?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 03:06 PM PDT

What are some enemies you want to see in BoTW2 that makes sense to Zelda lore?

I would love to see Gerudo pirates that would give the open world more immersion. Banished, werewolves and a mask cult for more diversity. Lost Hylians could be really interesting enemies and Puppets.

I've seen people do spin attacks without charging it while using swords. How do they do this? I've looked everywhere for answers but haven't been able to figure it out.
