[AOC] This is probably the closest Impa has ever gotten to her originally intended role as the third member of the main trio.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 01:17 PM PST

From an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto in Hyrule Historia:

We named the protagonist Link because he connects people together. He was supposed to spread the scattered energy of the world through the ages. The old female storyteller who feeds information to Zelda is named Impa; her name comes from the word impart. Impa, Link, and Zelda were the guardians of the Triforce. Today, when you think of characters who are connected to the Triforce, you think of Link, Zelda, and Ganon, but that started in Ocarina of Time. Originally Ganon was only a villain in relentless pursuit of the Triforce.

Somewhere out there, there's a timeline where Impa has the Triforce of Power

    [ALL] 35th Anniversary Hopes

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 03:26 PM PST

What are you all hoping to see with the upcoming anniversary?

    I have some hopes:

    • I'd love a bundle of Seasons and Ages remade for the Switch in the same style as the Link's Awakening remake.

    • Not specifically Zelda but hoping for the N64 to be added to Switch Online with OoT and MM immediately available.

    • Skyward Sword remake with no motion controls and updated graphics. Bonus, cut down on the hand holding dialogue from Fi. Extra bonus, just complete redesign of Tentalus as I adore that dungeon but my god, that boss is terrible.

[All] Beat LA now moving on to AlttP

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 12:11 PM PST

I have been trying to play as Much Zelda as I can the past ouple of months. In this time I have put over 50 hours in BotW, beat the NES Legend of Zelda, and have been playing Link's Awakening (Gameboy color version) Today I finished the last two dungeons and beat the final Nightmare on Link's Awakening. It made me sad that it was all just a dream but it was cool to see Marion in the end turn into a seagull so she could fly all over and travel like she wanted.

I am now going to move onto A Link To the Past on my Snes, and Season on my Gameboy. All while playing BotW.

This is by far my favorite video game series of all time. I am in so much heaven right now :)

[BOTW2] Thoughts on Playable Zelda in BOTW2

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 06:28 PM PST

Like many of us, I think, I am really hoping that Princess Zelda becomes a playable character in the BOTW 2. While having an entirely Zelda based story/game where you play as the princess trying to save Link would be great, one way that I think Nintendo could integrate Zelda as a playable character would be if they made Link and Zelda have a swap dynamic. From what we see from the trailer as well as from interviews, we know that we will be exploring beneath Hyrule. What if, in a true Legend of Zelda fashion, we have link and Zelda split between these two areas, with Zelda armed with Sheika slate and its powers above ground, and Link with the new spirit arm below ground, and part of the game is reuniting link an Zelda and being able to use both sets of powers in the overworked as a whole. I can see this as a good way to have both Link and Zelda as playable characters while keeping a centered story around the two characters.

What do you folks thing and what do you all want out of a playable Zelda?

[OTHER] How is The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes five years later?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 06:39 PM PST

In case you need a refresher, it's the third multiplayer-focused Zelda title after Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, originally released for the 3DS in October of 2015. It's gameplay style is based on that of the previous 3DS Zelda game, A Link Between Worlds, but ditches that game's nonlinear format in favor of a mission-based structure akin to Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.

The game's development can be traced back to the development of ALBW. The small Zelda team that remained after the completion of Spirit Tracks wanted to make a game based around the theme of communication, but Miyamoto shut it down. The world and story are very silly and the gameplay even features Link dressing up in a ton of different outfits. At launch, there were 128 levels. But after an update in December of the same year, there were a bunch more added.

Four fun facts for you: 1) The Link that's featured in this game is apparently the same one from A Link Between Worlds. Must be some damn good plastic surgeons in Hytopia. 2) The devs were planning to reuse the Link Between Worlds design for Link in this game (and concept art exists in the Zelda Encyclopedia), but Aonuma insisted that they instead use the Toon Link design. 3) The other two Links you can team up with are supposed to the Links from other players' trips to Hyrule and Lorule. And 4) there is a Doge meme in the North American localization. This isn't present in the PAL version.

[BoTW2]Could we see a return to the masks from Majora’s Mask in the Breath of The Wild sequel?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 08:16 PM PST

Did that Link bring the masks with him out of Termina? Could he have hidden the masks somewhere? It would be sick to swim around as Zora Link, and roll like Goron Link.

What other Zelda items would be cool to have return in the sequel?

[SS] Silent Realm Earth Guardian Fanart

I haven't seen much fanart of the Earth Guardian from the silent realm in Skyward Sword, do you know any artists that have done art of it? Or know of any artwork?

[AOC] Are there any aspects from AOC that you would like to be added into BOTW2?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 04:44 AM PST

There are two biggies for me:

    1. The weapon forge. Make it so that weapons no longer disintegrate into dust when their durability runs out, make it so that they "break" and can be fixed using resources. I'd be fine with the leveling and charms too but I feel it's too RPG for a mainline Zelda game.

    2. The elemental enemies. I think the Ice, Fire, Electric, and Malice versions of enemies added a really nice bit of depth to the enemy list. It's already a thing for Taluses so it'd be fun for some of the others too.

How about you? Anything you'd like ported from AOC? Or just a wishlist for BOTW2 in general.

[AoC] 2nd Worst and Favorite Character

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 06:14 PM PST

I just unlocked Master Kohga and haven't tried him or later characters yet, but I'm interested to see who you believe is the worst character discounting the objectively terrible Great Fairies. My second least favorite, so far, is Riju. Her moveset is not conducive for much because of how far her attacks fling you. Also, tell me your favorites. I love most of the roster, but my 3 favs are Link, Impa, and Revali. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
